The Beach...Boys!!!

So I thought that I would change it up a little tonight, and not wait until midnight to write about my adventure today. There should be a direct correlation with how awake, alert I am and my ability to write creative and interesting while I paint a picture with words. Now that I have set some unrealistic, unattainable goals for myself (cause who's kidding me my blogs are the bees knees) I will dive right in - as Mr. Doobies (aka Crew for those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting him) did all morning. The real reason is I have plans tonight and I want to be ever vigilant in posting these personally enlightening anecdotes (honesty, I guess it is pretty easy - who would of known).

Working for the government affords me some rather lucrative perks; access to Roswell (Area 51), knowing where J.Edgar Hoover is buried, and the best of all every other Friday off (or at least my client does). Most of you know that I do solicit ideas for my escapades, and yesterday I received a great one from my little sis Tristyn. So today, we headed to the beach and were accompanied by a couple of gentleman that are extremely special to me. Da Boys as they are affectionately known as - Rawley (Mr. Pants) and Crew!

It's funny how often you lean on your family, friends, and loved ones in your lifetime, and sometimes you don't even realize that your doing it. I have been lucky in my life to be surrounded by a loving circle larger that most, and who could say where I would be without them. Not taking anything away from anyone, no disrespect at all, but I can say these boys are two of the four people (cause lets be honest people pets are not animals) that make the foundation of "My Family". I wake up to them, I come home to them, I play with them, and I love them. The kind of love you have that when you see them your eyes immediately light up and all the worries, struggles, fears are lifted if not only for a moment. For the past 5 years (Crew 4.5 yrs) they have supported in me in every facet of my life. Joining my emotional roller coster; comforting me when I'm down and enjoying the spoils of the high...no matter what they were there, my constants, my rock. Powerful Stuff! Even when you can say that when they smell like wet dog!

The day was beautiful, warm to counter act the icy cold surf, and bustling with dogs who's owners have taken off today to extend an already long weekend. Going to dog beach with Da Boys, is more of social experiment seeing how they have opposite personalities. The social butterfly Mr. Pants wants to meet and greet all within his purview, while Doobies avoids dogs altogether and "patiently" waits for the tennis ball to be hurled as far as one can throw it without ripping your arm out of it's socket. Crew Swims & Rawley waits for him at the shoreline. Mr. Pants prances happily, while Doobies runs with conviction!

Knowing this we now have to ensure that they both walk away fulfilled with the experience, enjoying the day in Ocean Beach. Carefully navigating through the crowd Tristyn and I kept Crew occupied with the ball, while the smooth talking Mr. Pants made his rounds. After about 45 mins of running Crew, and coaxing Rawley into the water a few times we decided to head out and grab some lunch with Da Boys at Tower Two. This has become somewhat of a ritual following a beach session; where we all sit outside, enjoy the sun, and make sure to order something that included Tater Tots. A treat well deserved and devoured almost without chewing.

Tired, wet, and full we headed home to vegetate. It was a great suggestion, Tristyn and I got to catch up quite a bit, we seldom get one on one time and I realized that it was much needed. It's exciting finding things out like that because it drives a change in my actions, it's hard to realize that you don't always have to get together as a whole family unit, the relationships that you build individually with your family members are equally important. Wow, this guy sounds profound... Wonder what great thinker has taken over my mind for this blog?

- Cheers
