White Men Can Jump, Just Not High! Ball In!!!

Let me preface today's adventure with this, "I understand and am fully aware of my athletic prowess. I am not letting my obvious genetic deficiencies hold me from having a good time balling it up. I have no aspirations of exercising my talent for an audience, but I do have to admit I can stroke the occasional jumper." - All of this goes for my esteemed colleague Mr. Slaughter.

What we lack in skill, we make up in pure determination and the unwillingness to give each other an inch. Now the game of one on one had to look like to guys fending off a swarm of killer bee's, but it truly was an epic battle. With missed shots, terrible dribble drives, and the dying quail lay-ups the game lasted an eternity. The sad fact was that after 5 minutes we were ready to throw in the towel, huffing and puffing, both realizing our self image of being relatively in shape (at least we look like it) was cast off like a mutinous pirate forced to walk the plank. Winning took a back seat, our goal became ending the game as quickly as possible! This made the sweet taste of victory a little bitter, but what I really enjoyed came after the game.

After the debacle of what looked like Shaq bricking free throws for 30 minutes, I got some some much needed time with one of my best buddies Sean. A little back story, Sean is real busy working towards a life goal of being a paramedic (and ultimately a firefighter). A guy that actually is going after his dreams, words can't really define how much I respect that, and him for that matter. (Alright enough of the man crush...lol) We sat down on on a bench adjacent to the court where, we had a real conversation. It's great to have a friend that you can just be honest with, talk about your problems, explain where you are in life, and not be judged. As you know I have been going thru some hard times, but most of all the hard times I have put my family, friends, and the love of my life thru. Being able to tell him where I've been, where I'm at, and where I hope to go is incredibly relieving and much needed. He is a great friend one I wish to have for a long time. Thanks Dude, You have done more for me thru the years than I can repay!

To sum things up - "Three, two, One.......SWISH!!!! Bzzzzzzzzzz!"

- Cheers
